My sincere hope is that my paintings will convey to you how I perceive the world around me. I believe that all paintings are, essentially, self-portraits of the artists who create them.
I sense around me an all-pervasive energy. I feel it in nature, I see it reflected in the eyes of everyone I come across. From the most profound places in our hearts to the deepest reaches of space, there is a reverberating current of life. This flowing energy has been a topic of discussion for both scientists and sages throughout time. Our contemporary high priests — quantum physicists — have further investigated the mystical relation between matter and energy. Distinctions between scientific and spiritual inquiry are blurred with each generation’s evolving understanding.
There is no space within or without that is not a part of this energy. It is resonating, almost musical in nature. We are all a part of its absolute, encompassing whole.
Through color and directional brushstrokes, I strive to capture a glimpse of this sparkling, living matrix. The harmonious, undulating, rhythmic patterns that I see in nature are of particular importance to me. I try to sense the source hidden just below the surface of a subject's physicality. It is precisely this energy mosaic that I want to share with you through my visual self-expression.
